ABOUT US
WHY DID WE START?
WHY ORGANIZE?
WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
The CJC’s mission is to advance collective justice by fostering an engaged and empowered community in the neighbourhood. Driven by youth who grew up in the area and locating the centre within close proximity to the majority of neighbourhood residents, the CJC will engage with neighbours on justice issues and work collaboratively, using community organizing and decolonizing approaches, to identify and address practices and structures of exploitation, oppression, domination, and discrimination.
WHAT IS OUR VISION?
The CJC’s vision is a neighbourhood-based centre that will promote independent collective organizing as an approach to improve the daily conditions for working class people. The Centre will advance our collective interests by building trust and overcoming false divisions between our neighbours.
